My cat has heavy breathing, cough, and a side bump. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 9 years and 9 months old

My kitty is breathing heavy through his nose and quickly recently . He will also sometimes cough/sneeze. He has a bump on his side which I am not sure is dangerous or filled with fat. What is he going through?

It sounds like there could be a few things going on with Whiskers. He could have a respiratory infection causing the heavy breathing, cough, and sneezing. The bump could be a growth, either benign or malignant, a cyst, or a lipoma. I"d have him seen by a vet for these problems to have this diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.
