My kitten breathes fast and pants after running. Is it just allergies?

My kitten Fuji is breathing fast and whn he runs even for 20sec then start panting , we took him to vet 2 days ago & we were told he is allergic to something and the Vet instruct us to give fuji ......Syrup & 1/4 ..... tablet each 12 hour. is it possible this signs happens just because of allergies? Pet's info: Cat | Scottish Fold Longhair | Male | neutered | 5 months and 22 days old

To me, this doesn't sound like allergies. I'm concerned there could be something wrong with Fuji's heart, but don't freak out at that because I can't say for certain without seeing him in person. I'd take him back into the vet for this behavior. Best of luck.
