When is it safe for budgies to return to a room after carpet cleaning?

Hi, I have pet budgies and keep them in the lounge room. I needed to clean the carpet so I put the budgies cage out into a room near the open back door covered the cage and put a fan on and then closed the door to the room. I used a carpet powder deodoriser and then opened up all the windows to that room and put the exhaust fan on. How long until it’s safe to bring the cage back into the room?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It sounds like you did a fabulous job! Typically it should be safe for them to go back into the room after about 12 hours. If the smell is overpowering and still strong after 12 hours then you may want to wait 24 hours just to be safe. Hope this helps. Best wishes!
