My dog has CDDY-IVDD & CDPA. What body parts are affected? What now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 28 days old | 30 lbs

I took genSol test for my pup, and he got C in this two field: CHONDRODYSTROPHY AND IVDD RISK (CDDY-IVDD) and CHONDRODYSPLASIA (CDPA). What part of his body will be affected or at risk? What should I do now?

These diseases affect the joints and spine. The best thing to do for him is to keep him active and fit. Overweight dogs can be more at risk for joint problems. Unfortunately, you cannot prevent IVDD but dogs of an ideal weight and fitness level tend to do better than those who are overweight.
