My cat is limping and money is tight. What can I do to help him?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Viverral | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 21 days old | 3.5 lbs

I see that my cat is unable to put every little weight on his left hind foot, is there anything I could do for him? Money is tight at this moment. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Please, check the foot for any swellings, wounds between the pads, broken claws, foreign material between the pads. That is sometimes the reason why cats limp. If it looks normal and touching the toes does not produce any pain or discomfort for Huntet, the problem is probably higher up in the knee joint, hip or pelvis. If your cat has been limping and not weight-bearing for over 24hrs, he really should be seen by a vet as there is are not home remedies that you can use to help him. If money is any issue at the moment, you may talk to your vets about payment plan or try and find a low-cost vet practice in your area.
