My cat hasn't pooped in 2 days and is uncomfortable. What should I do?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 10 years and 6 months old | 20 lbs

Hi, my cat is 10.5, male orange tabby, not obese, active. He has not deficated in 2 days. This happened about 4-5 years ago and went on for about a week, and he was close to death. IThat time, he eventually deficated and was immediately fine afterwards. He has been blocked for 2 days and is communicating to me through his meow that he is very uncomfortable. I gave him 2 psyllium husks in water an hour ago which he loved. At what point do I need to worry? I don't like seeing him like this.

You are better off giving him Miralax powder. The psyllium is a fiber that will bulk up the stools but it isn't really a laxative/stool softener. I would give him 1/4 teaspoon mixed in a bit of canned food every 12 hours to effect. I think this will help tremendously. https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/equate-clearlax/6000189073881 Hope this helps. I would not necessarily be concerned at this point if Tony is acting normally in every other way. The only thing I would add is probiotic. I like Fortiflora but you can use any probiotic made for cats (no human products and no dairy). http://www.allivet.com/p-1890-purina-pro-plan-veterinary-diets-fortiflora-cat-supplement-box-of-30.aspx This won't hurt anything and may help get him more "regular". Hope this helps. Best wishes.
