What's causing my dachshund puppy's light chest hair & nose spot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 17 days old | 12 lbs

Hi! I have a 4 1/2 month old, male dachshund. I’m just wondering on how to treat his skin/ hair on his chest and both ears because it gets lighter. I think it got irritated. I already removed his collar thinking that it contributes to the irritation. And he has also this small circle shaped on his nose and I don’t know what it is. Seeking for some help. Thanks in advance!

The spot on the nose could be a scab, small mass, or ringworm. I don't really see evidence of hairloss or hair lightening in the picture, so I am not sure what that could be. You can try apply an antifungal cream to the spot on the nose twice daily for a week. If it doesn't seem to respond, Kobe should get checked out by a vet.
