Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 3 years and 3 months old | 100 lbs

My dog Paxil who is about 3 years old usually throws up because when he was a puppy he was almost starved to death so his stomach has been messed up but of today he has started throwing up white foam that is slimy and has maybe chucks of dog food in to and he’s been acting weird and doesn’t want to lay down or move that much he’s also drooling pretty bad

Poor Paxil! It could be he has an upset stomach or pancreatitis causing his symptoms. I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. I hope this helps!

She might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer her boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or is not eating, take her to the vet to get treatment.

Poor Bentley! She could have an infection, parasite, pancreatitis, upset stomach from something she ate, obstruction, etc. If she is otherwise acting fine, withhold food for the day and then try a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for a few days before gradually switching back to her old food. If her condition persists or she becomes lethargic than she should be examined by your vet for treatment. Your vet can take an x-ray and run labwork to help diagnosis and then prescribe medications to help treat her problem. Hope she feels better soon!

It sounds like Alaska is sick. Withhold food tonight, then in the morning feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck.
