Can a puppy outgrow wall eyes or strabismus? Can it be corrected?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cavalier King Charles Spaniel | Female | unspayed | 3 months old | 5 lbs

My 3 month old puppy is wall eyed. Is this something she will outgrow? Her parents don’t have eyes like her and they are akc eye certified. Her vet doesn’t seem to be concerned and says that her eyes look fine but they’re not giving me any answers as far as whether she has strabismus or whether it’s something we can correct through therapy or not?

She doesn't appear walleyed in the images provided. She is absolutely adorable! Strabismus is typically hereditary. There is no treatment for inherited strabismus. Unfortunately, the certification does not include genetic testing. The parents may be of normal phenotype and appear normal, but can carry the abnormal genotype responsible for the condition.
