My cat won't eat, looks unwell, and her fur is changing. What's wrong?

my cats usually very social and always begging for food. But the past few days she hasn’t been eating or drinking much and she just doesn’t look right and her furs sort of changing. I’m really worried about her.... do u know what could be wrong with her?

It sounds like Sissy is sick. Her symptoms could be caused by dental disease, systemic illness, infection, or injury. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain what is going on. I'd have her seen by a vet today to have this diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.

I am sorry Sassy is not feeling well. I would recommend taking Sassy to a vet as soon as possible. it is possible that she has something like dental disease causing her pain while eating or unfortunately underlying disease. Depending on Sassys age I would be concerned about kidney function, liver function, infection, viruses and possibly cancer. A vet exam is going to help guide you in the direction to hopefully make sassy feel better.

It sounds like Kitty is sick if she rarely eats. It's quite serious when a cat barely eats, as they can develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. Unfortunately, anorexia and lethargy are very general signs of illness, and can be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. I would have her seen by a vet right away for a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated.

Poor Missy! She could have a dental problem causing her symptoms, such as a tooth root abscess, broken tooth, or severe periodontal disease. There could also be a growth or foreign body in her mouth. Shaking the head frequently can also be a sign of an ear infection, while licking the mouth as well as not eating and drinking can be a sign of nausea . She is in pain from this, and she is showing this to by shaking her head frequently, licking her mouth, not eating, and not drinking. It's very concerning when a cat won't eat or drink, and I would take her into a vet today. The vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms, and can treat her for it. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hi my cat has stopped eating on thursday she is normally indoors during the day but now is outside under the car what could be wrong with her also we are not sure if she is drinking fluids
Cats that don't eat are at risk to develop fatty liver disease so she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause of her problem. Your vet can do a complete examination, run bloodwork, and take an x-ray, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. She could have an infection, parasite, liver/kidney disease, diabetes, pancreatitis, dental disease, etc. Once diagnosed, your vet can prescribe medications to treat.

These are general signs of disease, unfortunately almost any disease can manifest itself with those symptoms and for this reason I won't be able to give you an idea of what could be causing this. I would recommend taking your cat to the vet ASAP for a physical examination, if nothing obvious will be found she will probably need a blood test or an ultrasound and the vet will then treat him according to the results.

My cat looks healthy and everything but she isn't eating right or being her talkative self I wonder if it's because she is picking up on my mom's pain (my mom just had surgery)
If there is a change in her routine than it could be causing some stress and her change in behavior. If it continues, she should be examined by your vet to make sure there is not a medical reason. As cats age, they can develop dental disease, kidney/liver issues, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, etc. and your vet can do an examination and run lab-work to make sure she is healthy.

Poor Pippy! Yes, it certainly sounds like she's sick - shaking is often a sign of pain or discomfort in cats, and not eating or drinking is also a very non-specific sign of illness. Unfortunately, these are very vague symptoms that could be caused by almost anything, so it would be best to have Pippy examined by a vet as soon as you are able to. He/she can do a thorough exam to check for any areas where she might be painful, and can also do blood work and x-rays if needed to help determine the problem.

Hi Emily. Poor Miri. A loss of appetite is a very general sign of many illnesses, and it's actually extremely serious when a cat won't eat. If she goes long enough without eating (about 72 hours), she will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. You need to take her into a vet now.

My cat is urinating everywhere and is not eating but drinking some water she is twitching her tail and is very wabaly what could be causing this
Poor kitty! There are many things that could cause these symptoms, so it's hard to say for sure what might be wrong without more information. She could have a systemic illness like diabetes or chronic kidney disease, a urinary tract infection, bladder stones, FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis), or she may have gotten into something toxic causing her to have trouble controlling her bladder. I would recommend having her examined by a vet as soon as you can - he/she can do a urinalysis and blood work if needed to help determine the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment.

Cats will often go off their food and be more lethargic when they are coming down with an illness. This is usually due to an upper respiratory infection (aka cat flu) or an infection of the stomach or intestines. While she may not be having nose/eye discharge, or diarrhea right now, you may see this in a day or two. Their are a couple of other diseases that I worry about with a fighting cat, because they can cause them to feel bad like this and be spread through biting. FIV and FeLV are two viral diseases that can depress the immune system and possibly lead to long-term infections. These can be easily tested for by a vet. If she is eating a little, then make sure there is plenty of water mixed in the food, because I worry most about dehydration. Sometimes warming up the food will entice them to eat it, so try that along with trying different, tasty foods. The best thing to do for Alba is to take her to the vet. She may be running a fever and could already be dehydrated.
