My cat won't eat and is throwing up. What to do before her vet visit?

Hello! My cat has been refusing most food since Sunday, and she just threw up some tiny pieces of bread that I managed to get her to eat. She has never thrown up before and usually is a good eater. Her energy and alertness levels seem normal. I just set up a vet appointment for her for tomorrow afternoon, but I am worried about her. Is there anything I can do for her in the meantime? Thank you. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 months and 16 days old | 8.5 lbs

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! So sorry that Vesper is not feeling well :( I am really glad you set up a vet appointment for her for tomorrow. I think it is best to withhold food from now until tomorrow morning to give her stomach a rest. You can feed her tomorrow morning and that way you will have a few hours before the appointment to see if she is going to continue to vomit. I don't recommend that you give her any over the counter medications at this stage. Hope this helps. Best wishes!
