Dog cried during nail trim, almost cut quick. Should I be concerned?

Okay, so while cutting Tinys nails, I almost cut his quick, he cried before I was able to cut, so it only left scratch marks on the nail, no blood whatsoever, he can walk, I touched the nail, and he didn’t cry or it didn’t seem to bother him, the nail isn’t hanging or anything. Should I be concerned? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 9 months old | 13 lbs
