Are flesh-colored bumps on my cat's head and back cancerous?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Colorpoint Shorthair | Female | spayed | 3 years and 11 months old

My cat has 2 small almost flat flesh colored bumps. One is on the top of her head and the other is in between her shoulder blades. She is a healthy 3 year old colorpoint and I just want to be sure that these are not cancerous. Our normal vet is closed other than emergencies due to COVID. Thank you!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Luna. She should see her veterinarian to have the bumps evaluated after the quarantine as it is not likely an emergency. She may have cysts. The doctor will typically perform a procedure known as a fine needle aspirate. A small needle is used to collect a sample of cells to evaluate under the microscope. This helps to give a diagnosis. I hope this information helps!
