Why does my 8-month-old kitten have a bloated tummy and smelly gas?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 23 days old

Hi my kitten when we first got it at 4 months old was on wheat free kitten food because the previous owner put him on it due to his mother being wheat free. When we got we took him to a vet to be checked over and she said to take him of wheat free and give him normal kitten food due to it being linked to some heart issues and she gave him a worming tablet for his bloated tummy. He is now 8 months old and his tummy is still bloated out at the sides and he has terrible smelly gas

What a cutie!!! A bloated tummy is most often related to worms or an upset tummy. I recommend to call your vet and ask if Raichu needs to be dewormed again. I'm not sure if you changed his diet but I recommend the brand Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible and this results in great stool quality, minimal quantity and low odor. I hope this helps.
