My dog has a pimple with white pus. Is it serious? How to treat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 81 lbs

My dog has allergies but I’ve never seen this happen to her. I don’t know if she itched it so hard this pimple like thing formed or not but it doesn’t seem to bother her too much. She has has all the flea and tick and mites and preventative measures so i don’t think those would be the culprit. There seems to be some sort of white pus in the pimple like thing. What is it? Is it serious? How should we treat it at home?

I don't think this is a serious issue at this point. It looks like a pustule/pimple which may be from an ingrown hair or she may have had an insect bite. You can use these medicated pads on the affected area once a day. If for some reason it does not appear to be going away, or if she gets more lesions, then I would say a vet visit would be warranted. https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=117958
