My 8-month-old kitten keeps throwing up often. What's wrong with her?

My kitten threw up! This is not the first time she threw up and it looks like this. She is 8/9 months old! Last time she threw up was probably 2 weeks ago.

Poor Masha. That might be a worm or a piece of plastic she ate. Make sure she is up to date on her deworming treatments, and I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps. Feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If she refuses to eat the bland diet, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Poor Bella! It's not normal for a kitten to throw up, but you can try a home remedy first before having to take her into the vet. I recommend withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feeding a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. This vomiting could be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. Should Bella need to see a vet, the vet can diagnose the cause of the vomiting and can treat her for it.

Our cat " Maanu " vomits every third or few days . We don't have a vet nearby . Maanu is near about 3 months old. We have no other cat in our house. Please suggest some solution.
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Maanu is adorable! I would deworm him and change his food. The most common cause of chronic vomiting is a food allergy. I would aim to change the meat protein (not the grain) in his food. Be sure it is a high quality commercial kitten food. It may take a few brands to find one that causes less vomiting. If you have tried 2-3 then I would contact your Vet for a prescription diet. Good luck!

My cat only eats a lil bit and throws up
Poor Kitty Kat sounds ill! It could be that he is suffering from a GI illness, foreign body, pancreatitis, or eating something rotten causing his symptoms. If he's been vomiting for less than 24 hours, I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. I recommend withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. My cat is throwing up salvia and foam and I don’t know what is causing it. She is also giving alittle cry meow.

7 month old female cat, spayed. Foul smelling stool, intermittent runny stool, occasional vomiting. Otherwise appears healthy. Very active with a strong appetite. No vaccines.
Oh no, poor Jitters! She could be suffering from intestinal worms, a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, or could have a foreign body causing her symptoms. Make sure she is up to date on her deworming treatments, giving her one if she isn't. I recommend Panacur, which you can get from your vet. Otherwise, I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

Four month old kitty has thrown up twice two days ago and today. Food is not digested. About a half of cup each time. Looks like food and water.
I am very sorry how long it has taken an expert to get back to you. I also am very sorry to hear that Sassy is experiencing these problems, I am sure it is very unsettling for you both. There are a number of potential causes of such clinical signs, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, parasite infestation, infection, and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Because you have only noticed these signs over the course of two days I would continue to monitor Sassy at home. Rest Sassy's gastrointestinal tract by holding back food for 6 hours. Then you can continue with a bland and easily digested food of the boiled chicken breast and provide plenty of fresh water. If Sassy does not improve, has profuse vomiting or diarrhoea, you notice fresh blood, Sassy seems lethargic, in pain or depressed I would advise a trip to the veterinarian. My kitten (estimated 5 weeks old) began throwing up this morning around 6am,, it looked like mushy food. She has acted fine all day and then threw up again around 8pm, the same consistency as before. She is now throwing up clear, spit looking liquid.
Vomiting is a very vague sign and could indicate several different things going on. Some of the more common causes of vomiting include intestinal parasites, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach wall), pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, or a foreign body/blockage. Since Luna is so young I would recommend taking her to the vet. She may be dehydrated and need fluids as well as some antinausea medication to help stop the vomiting.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Possible reasons for vomiting episodes include pancreatitis, kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroenteritis, among others. However, in a kitten who is otherwise doing well, oftentimes it is dietary indiscretion. In this case, sometimes a diet change to a sensitive stomach diet could improve this. You can get any good quality sensitive stomach food at your local pet store and see if that helps. Having grain or not is really not the important factor here. It is more just a sensitivity to the protein or carbohydrate in the current diet. If no improvement is observed, have her evaluated by your veterinarian to ensure that there is nothing else going on such as the conditions mentioned above. Good luck and have a great night!
