My kitten has diarrhea, is sick, and hasn't eaten. Is it an emergency?

A/s sir my kitten is so much sick and I guess she's in diarrhea and yesterday she's feeling so much bad even not eating at 18 hours

It's now a medical emergency that Bunty hasn't eaten in 18 hours. If she goes much longer without eating, she will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. She is quite sick and cannot be treated at home. Please take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Poor kitten! I think you're in the right for trying to get in sooner to have her checked out by your vet. If she is bleeding a lot or is having severe diarrhea or vomiting, then seeking out care from another vet or even an emergency clinic may be a good idea. Keeping her bottom clean and dry can help, and feeding a bland meal of some boiled chicken may help as well until you can be seen.

This is a medical emergency, and Bonney needs to see a vet now. She sounds quite sick, and it's actually extremely serious when a cat stops eating. They will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment if they do not eat for a couple of days. That must be prevented, and the only way to get the needed treatment for her is through a vet. You cannot treat this at home. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck.

You need to take this kitten into a vet immediately. It's very serious that she has black colored diarrhea, which means there is digested blood in it. There is blood coming somewhere from her upper GI tract, and that is a medical emergency. She may be so sick from the bleeding causing her to not want to eat. She needs veterinary care right away. Leaving her like this is cruel, and you need to find a way to afford a vet. Borrow money from family and friends. See if your vet accepts payment plans. Poor Snow! If he has no energy and can't even stand up, this is a very serious problem - he needs to see an emergency vet immediately. This would not be caused by withholding food for 10 hours; severe lethargy or weakness like this is generally a sign of a serious illness such as feline panleukopenia. Your vet can do some diagnostic testing to help determine what's wrong and get him started on appropriate treatment. I would recommend taking him to see the vet right now, as this may be a life-threatening problem.

I'm sorry Mooshoo has been vomiting! If he is acting lethargic or the vomiting continues for the next couple of hours I would consider taking him to the emergency vet just to be on the safe side. They may want to check lab work and x-rays to make sure there is no evidence of an obstruction. Otherwise I think it's fine for your vet to see him tomorrow. Intestinal parasites are very common in kittens so that could be a possibility.

That's concerning! Refusing to eat is often a sign of illness, and without seeing Squid in person, I can't say for sure what is going on. I can also say it can be really serious when a kitten won't eat, as if they go long enough without eating (about 72 hours), they will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. I'd take him into the vet first thing to take for a health check. I hope this helps!

Given her age there are several things that cross my mind, but a common issue in these young kittens is parasites. Sometimes their parasite burden can be so high that they cannot maintain adequate glucose levels, and also can become uninterested in food and sometimes will begin vomiting. I would recommend deworming her. Also, it would be important to rule out signs of infection and/or sepsis. I think she needs to be seen by a veterinarian right away. Such a young and small animal can deteriorate quickly even with easy to resolve issues like gastrointestinal parasites.
