My Pug has fleas and ticks and is scratching. What medicine helps?

I have a Pug, which is three years old. He has got a dark red fleas and ticks on his body and he keeps scratching lot of the time.please help in some good medication for him.

Poor Bonze! First, I would give him Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Frontline Plus. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. I hope this helps!

We have 2 50 lb. hound mixes that we have been using Bravecto on for several years successfully. We also have 5 indoor cats, 2 of which came back from the vet recently with fleas. Our dogs have been scratching non-stop

what is the best medicine to kill fleas on my one year old dog he scratches a lot and cry
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I really like Bravecto and Frontline plus. You can use any of these two as a preventative medicine and to kill fleas. You can also consider using Capstar as well which can help kill a lot of fleas at once. You can use Capstar basically daily to effect so this can be quite effective. Also, remember that it is very important to vacuum all the surfaces that he has contact with daily to every other day. Good luck and have a great day!

Flea treatment:  1) Get some flea medication such as a Flea spray or a spot on from a pet shop or your veterinarian and apply monthly 2) get flea powder, put some in your vacuum cleaner bag and vacuum your house and furniture and also non-carpeted areas frequently to remove flea larvae and eggs which live off house dust., Dispose of the bag in the trash outside. Hot-wash all the pet's bedding, If you do this diligently for a few months you will get rid of the fleas. You can consider switching to another flea preventative product such as Bravecto or Frontline.
