Why is my senior cat meowing while eating, messy, and coughing?

We have a 13 year old cat who has had a few weird new behaviours , recently he has been wanting more attention , & he has been meowing when he’s eating (meowing with food in his Mouth/chewing) I noticed when he eats he always gets food up 1 side of his face . Last night I also noticed him Cough like he was having a hair ball but didn’t puke just coughed twice . Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 11 years and 10 months old | 11 lbs

This behavior can be a sign of a medical problem like a dental issue. This can be common in senior dogs. I'd have Buddy seen by a vet for this problem today or tomorrow. The vet can diagnose what is causing it and can treat him. I hope this helps!
