Thank you for submitting your question regarding Gizmo. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian today. An upper respiratory tract infection can lead to a loss of voice and a decrease in appetite. The heavy breathing is worrisome though and can indicate a more serious problem. The veterinarian will examine him and listen closely to his lungs. If the lungs do not sound normal, x-rays of his chest may be warranted. I hope this information helps!
