My Bengal cat has constant diarrhea for 2 months, what should I do?

Hi my Bengal is having constant diarrhea since I got her 2 months ago. I did not switch the food either!

This is not normal, and it's concerning that Chanel has had diarrhea for two months. It could be something like intestinal worms or an illness causing it. It's now time to see the vet to get this diagnosed and treated. I'd take her into a vet today. I hope this helps!

I would recommend that you have Bella examined by a vet. Chronic diarrhea in cats can have many causes, including hyperthyroidism, IBD, intestinal lymphoma, intestinal parasites, etc. The vet will do an exam and may recommend lab work like blood work or fecal intestinal parasite screens. Depending on the suspected cause, they can then recommend a treatment. Note that some causes of diarrhea are difficult to diagnose and it can take several attempts at treatment to find something that works for that individual patient.

Diarrhea means that Lily is sick. I can give you a home remedy for her to see if that helps. Feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she vomits the bland diet, she refuses to eat the bland diet, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

Diarrhea can be due to intestinal parasites, bacterial overgrowth or can be related to food sensitivities. I definitely think you need to see a vet if the diarrhea has been present for three weeks. They can check a stool sample and may be able to prescribe medications that could help depending on the cause.

Diarrhea for 2 days does warrant a vet visit since it is not clearing up. They can check her stool sample for parasites or bacteria and make sure an ultrasound is not needed and she is not getting dehydrated from having it so much.

Diarrhea and a decrease in appetite could be a sign of a number of different problems. Intestinal parasites are possible, even for indoor cats, as are some infections or diseases like colitis or inflammatory bowel disease. If the diarrhea continues for more than 24 hours or seems to be getting worse, or if her appetite does not improve during that time I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian. They may treat her symptoms or recommend some testing like blood work or a fecal analysis depending on what they find during a physical examination.

Hi, my cat has had, excuse the grossness, explosive diarrhea for the past few days. I don't think she's gotten into anything or eaten anything bad. She's been acting like her normal self but I'm extremely concerned.
Diarrhea is a common problem with cats and is usually self-limiting (will go away on its own). Usually it's not serious, but it's always possible that it could be the start of something serious. If she has any of the following, then she should see a vet: 1) Blood in diarrhea 2) Very watery diarrhea 3) Starts acting very depressed 4) Stops eating or drinking for longer than 24 hours. 5) Diarrhea lasts longer than three days. You can help her get through this by feeding bland food (i.e. boneless cooked chicken). Feed small portions (1/4 cup or less) at meal time. You can also add probiotics to the food (can get this at the pet store), which has demonstrated some efficacy for improving diarrhea. Ensure fresh, clean water is always available. Even though Coco has been dewormed twice she could still have intestinal parasites like coccidia that would not be susceptible to standard dewormers. Other causes of diarrhea include infections or food sensitivities. I would recommend seeing a vet for a fecal analysis. If it is normal you can discuss diet changes that could help, like increasing fiber or trying a limited ingredient diet.

Poor Simba. It sounds like he has diarrhea, and he could have a stomach illness, intestinal worms, may have eaten something rotten, a foreign body, or bacterial infection causing this bloody diarrhea. Whenever a cat has bloody diarrhea, it's time to see a vet because it can have some very serious causes. I'd take him into a vet now, who can diagnose what is causing this and can treat him. I'm sorry your rescue kitty is having such issues. I would assume you have already taken her to the vet to be checked out and have a fecal exam performed. If you have not done this yet, then I would start there. If your vet has already done most routine procedures (fecal, X-rays, etc) then you may consider seeing an internal medicine specialist where they can perform an ultrasound of the abdomen or an endoscopy. Your cat may be suffering from irritable bowel disease or some other chronic condition. Best of luck.

Poor Cobalt! The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including eating something he shouldn’t have, bacterial over growth, parasites or other even organ disease. If the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Unfortunately, it's impossible to know if this is related to the previous diarrhea or something new. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. ONce this is resolved, you may want to consider switching the diet. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. I hope Cobalt starts feel
