My dog is limping on his front leg after jumping. What should I do?

I have a 5 year old corgi/chihuahua mix that likes to sit on the arms of chairs. Today, he jumped off of one and started crying when he landed, favoring his front right leg. He is able to put some weight on it, but limps. He whimpers a bit if you get anywhere near his leg.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding CJ. I recommend keeping him very quiet if he is otherwise acting normal. Many mild causes of lameness will resolve within a few hours. If the lameness persists or he is acting sick, then he will need to see a veterinarian. In the meantime, do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!
