Why is my young cat's hind leg cracking when he jumps? Arthritis?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 3 years and 11 months old | 12 lbs

Hello, I noticed that my cat’s hind right leg started to crack when he jumps off my arms. He is just 4 years old this year and have been eating dry fold (royal canin indoor) and occassional wet food. He is pretty active as I have 4 other cats so they chase each other a lot. I’m worried that he might have arthritis although I don’t notice any other change aside from cracking joint. Please help. Thank you very much and stay safe!

This could potentially be a sign of arthritis. Unfortunately there are no human pain medications you can give Garlic. Many human ones are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. I'd have him seen by a vet for this problem. The vet can prescribe safe pain medication if needed.
