What vegetables can my rabbit eat? Are peas, pea pods, or beans safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 4.4 lbs

Can rabbits eat peas and/or beans? Or at least the pods? I've gotten conflicting info from other sources.

Thanks for reaching out about Cheddar Puff. The ingestion of peas or the pods is fine, if kept in reason. Too much of anything new can upset the gastrointestinal tract. Beans (as in legumes) are not an appropriate diet for rabbits. Good luck.
