My kitten has cat flu and eye infection. What helps her recover?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 13 days old | 14 lbs

My 5 month old ragdoll kitten has cat flu. She has all the typical flu symptoms for 3 days (sneezing, mucus and conjunctivitis) . My main worry is her left eye. I have been treating her eyes with isathal since day one but I am unsure if it is improving her condition. Can you please advise if this is the best drops to use and what else can I do to make her more comfortable and help her get over the virus. Many thanks

This common with viral upper respiratory infections in cats. I am not familiar with isathal, though it appears to be an antibiotic, which won't help with viral infections. You try adding lysine cat treats, as in some viral infections, the lysine will inhibit viral replication and help the body clear the infection quicker.
