My cat is losing hair and licking. Can I bathe him with baby shampoo?

Hi, im Erina. My cat is suffering hair loss and i dont know why. I dont see any fleas but he does licks his fur a lot. Henjas patches om both side of his body, on his back near the tail, on his legs and his stomach look inflamed a bit. Can i bathe him bfore giving other treatments? And i dont hv vat syampoo can i use human syampoo or do you have any suggestions for homemade syampoo?

The only shampoo you should use on a cat that is not cat shampoo would be human baby shampoo. I think you should apply a topical flea treatment on him one day after you bathe him just to rule that out as the problem.
