Cat's mouth sore won't heal after finding a mouse. Is it serious?

Trying to figure out why this keeps forming on my cats mouth and its been about a month now, happened when I found a dead mouse in my room and she now has this scan or scar but it doesn't heal

It could be Wednesday keeps scratching at it or rubbing her face preventing it from healing. I'm also concerned it could be infected. I'd have her seen by a vet this weekend to have this treated so it can finally heal. I hope this helps!

It does look like its probably a scratch/abrasion, however, if it is not improving over the next 3-5 days, please take her to your vet; cats can sometimes get lesions on their lips and mouth that can be due to an inappropriate immune response that causes severe inflammation in these areas. Your vet would be able to do an impression smear (push a microscope slide up against the skin to pick up the cells off the surface) and look at it under the microscope and determine if that is the case. Hello, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this issue. This looks like it could be what's called a rodent or indolent ulcer, but something called an eosinophilic plaque is also common. Sometimes steroids are needed other times in antibioticd and sometimes both steroids and antibiotics are needed. If you're not satisfied with your current veterinarian I would consider getting a second opinion or seeking out a cat only practice

My cat has a sore on the side of his mouth thought to be a rodent ulcer, but the sore it is not responding to treatment (clavimox, depro medrol, steroid injection). What else could be this sore be and what other treatment options are there?
I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this with Vivian. The location is a little abnormal for a rodent ulcer, so I would probably recommend more dermatology diagnostics (especially in an 11 year old cat if she hasn't had problems with this before). That may include a skin scraping or cytology of the area or even a biopsy of the area. Sometimes challenging skin problems require a referral to a veterinary dermatologist for a diagnosis. Poor Floquinha, pictures can be very difficult to interpret but it looks like she may have pulled to skin away from the gums. I would recommend a vet check to ensure there is no infection or debris in the wound but at this late stage surgical repair may not be possible with treatment aiming to keep the area clean and allow secondary wound healing.

This could be a wound that is becoming chronic is not healing, an infection, and allergy or even the start of an autoimmune disease. Because it is been going on for more than a week or two I recommend having your veterinarian do an exam if possible. Also if you could keep her inside for a week and keep it clean and dry you could see if that helps clear it up.

I am very sorry that Kitty has his sore near her lip. Thank you for proving pictures, it is difficult to know precisely what caused this lesion it may have been a cat scratch, a traumatic puncture from for example a fence, or possible a primary skin like feline acne, or allergic disease. At this stage it appears to be slightly crusted and inflamed and I would suggest a trip to the veterinarian. The vet will most likely clean the wound and debris any necrotic material. The vet may also send home pain relief, anti inflammatory medications and / or antibiotics. The vet will also be able examine the area and reach a diagnosis. This looks to be a little sore on the lip that was caused by some sort of puncture wound, scratch, etc. I would monitor it for now and perhaps use a daily water additive or oral rinse that you can get from your local pet store. If it has not resolved or worsened after 7-10 days, then its best to take Arlo to your local vet to get this checked out to make sure there isn't something underneath the skin that got stuck and can't come out (foreign body) that has caused this. Also the vet can do a complete oral exam as well to ensure the gums and mouth look ok. I hope that your fur baby gets this to heal well soon and that it is just a sore. Best wishes and take care! : )

I would get him in as soon as you can, but not necessarily as an emergency. It could probably wait until Monday. There good be an infected tooth, inflammation in the gums, a small ulcer or mass, or something else causing this behavior.

My cat has a sore on his upper lip and one under his chin i believe its from him having a plastic water dish what can i do to heal them? I attached two photos of the one on his lip
The pictures attached this time! That sore on Bear's lip looks pretty red and sore. I would be concerned that it could possibly be infected. Likely it's hard to get that to heal given he will probably be licking it with his tongue a lot since it will bother him. I would have him seen by a vet. He will need oral antibiotics if there is an infection to help the sore heal correctly. I hope this helps!

My cat has some redness in the corner of his mouth. The first picture is from 10/29 and the second is from today (11/3). He does not seem to be in any pain, and he is behaving/eating normally. I'm trying to avoid going to the vet if possible.
Based on the photos, it looks likes the lesion on Vivian's mouth is getting a little worse. I'm thinking she either has an infection that is the primary cause or is having an allergic reaction with a secondary infection. Unless the issue becomes chronic, I would not suspect allergies. At home tips would be to wash (and rinse) the area with a plain antibacterial soap daily. Take care not to get this in her mouth as she may vomit. You have to be careful with cats applying any topical medication since the ingest the product when they groom. I would think Vivian licks the side of her mouth so I would not recommend to apply anything to it. Try switching her food to a different protein source and see if that helps. It will take at least one month before you know if it works or not. Keep in mind if this diet change does not work, that is does not mean that food allergies are not present.
