This looks like a growth of some kind. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. My dog has a red bump on his back leg and a black hole in the middle. And it got bigger. Within a week. About the size of a dime now.
This bump needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Tank to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. It could also be an abscess. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. So my dog has a small bump on her lower left side of her back. It's about the size of a pinkie fingernail. It is firm not squishy. I noticed it about 6 maybe 8 months ago. It has not grown since I noticed it. It can be seen on her back in the light.

My dog has got a little bump on his side, I have no idea from what. I just want to know if I should take him to the vet, or will it just heal on it’s own

My dog has a red bump on his skin that’s irritating him. It’s in a location where the area and skin is sensitive so it’s making him very uncomfortable and feeling painful. What should I do about it?
This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors (unlikely given the age).
