My cat is not eating or drinking water. Ive been taking him to the vet since monday and he has been giving him subcutaneous normal saline. His BUN/Cr are borderline bur his Alkphos is elevated. He is peeing well but has small stools and today the stool was paste-like and very dark. He keeps vomiting. I gave him half a 10mg pepcid tab diluted in pedialyte. What do I do?

Hi and thanks for posting. Kidney disease and liver disease can certainly cause nausea and decreased appetite and water consumption. You may want to talk to your veterinarian about giving your cat anti-nausea medications such as Zofran or Cerenia which can help decreased the nausea so he feels better to eat and drink. Appetite stimulants an also be prescribed to help boost his appetite. I hope this helps!
