Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 46 lbs
My dogs pigment on her belly and legs has changed from a light pink to a dark colour. Is this a cause of concern? Her nipples have gone black. We noticed it happening not long after her spay. She’s 2 ish (we don’t fully know her age as she’s a rescuer)

Changes in skin color to a black pigment are often due to hyperpigmentation, which occurs secondary to chronic inflammation or irritation. The most common cause of this would be allergies (or atopy). Allergies usually show up between the ages of 2-4 years, so Pearl is right at that age. I recommend touching base with your vet to discuss if they think it's appropriate to start Pearl on an allergy treatment. Hope this helps!
