My dog has diarrhea for 4 days after eating cucumbers. What to do?

for the past 4 days my dogs poop has been liquid and he can’t hold it at night but he’s potty trained. i think it’s because my mom gave him some cucumbers a day before this started. he’s acting fine and playing like normal. i don’t know what i should do to help him. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 28 days old

Hi and thanks for posting! The cucumbers may the cause but it may be another issues causing the diarrhea as well such as parasitic infection, viral, or bacterial infection. Other causes may be gastrointestinal obstruction, pancreatitis, or other causes. Since this has been going on for 4 days, I would recommend Benji see his veterinarian very soon. Your vet may want to test his stool and may recommend x-rays or other diagnostic tests in order to pinpoint the cause. Until you can see your veterinarian, you can withhold food for 12-24 hours. Water is okay. Then reintroduce a small amount of food to him at a time. Adding some plain canned pumpkin puree (not the pie filling) to his food can help firm up the stool a bit. I hope this helps!
