On average a dog will be in heat for 1 ½ to 2 weeks but this can be shorter or longer; up to 4 weeks. So, this may be normal for her. Just keep monitoring her and if the heat lasts longer than 4 weeks she should be examined by your vet.

The total heat cycles on average will last about 3 weeks and the swelling and bleeding occur towards about 5-7 days in and clears towards the end of the cycle. You should notice it decreasing in frequency and getting better over the next several days. If not or her appetite is decrease and you notice any changes in how much water she drinks then she will need to be see to see if there is an infection in her uterus

Hello. It can depend on the pet, but most females will drip blood pretty regularly for approximately 5 days, then this will lessen during the next 5 days, finally stopping in another few days. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

A dog's heat typically lasts between three to four weeks. I would have your male dog stay somewhere else while Dalia is in heat. Dogs should not get pregnant during their first heat, you are right she is too young. Pants will not stop him from mating her, the best thing to do is have him stay elsewhere. Or else keep them in completely separate rooms at all times. I hope this helps!
