Can my dachshund be a trail dog for biking on rocky terrain?

Can dachshunds be used as trail dogs more specifically I ride bikes through desserts and the woods and rocky terrain and such can my dachshund come along with me. The picture is the terrain I ride.

Not really. Dachshunds can have endurance but with their shorts legs they can't keep up. Additionally, the breed is prone to serious back problems so this type of strenuous activity is not recommended. If you want a running partner, look at one of the sporting or herding breeds. Several of the larger hounds (which longer legs) also make good running/trail companions. I hope this helps..
