Dog eye drops: Can I apply 8-hour and 12-hour meds together?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 9 months old | 13 lbs

One of them is supposed to be done every 12 hours, while the other one is supposed to be every 8 hours, can I just put them both in his eye every 12 hours, because they told me to put them at the same time, 10 minutes apart?

I would follow the instructions - it sounds like your vet wants one medication (I'd guess Ofloxacin) to be given more frequently. Although it says every 8 hours you can plan to do it three times a day spread over waking hours. You will need to wait 10 minutes in the morning and evening to maximize absorption.
