Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 8 years and 5 months old | 13 lbs
My cat is almost 9 years old. Lately she’s been sleeping and eating more than normal. Her bathroom habits are still the same but she’s been avoiding me for about a week now and seems to be afraid of me. She’s a rescue and I’ve had her since she was about 3 or 4 months old. I work from home and she’s normally right there on my feet or under the desk. I was sick recently, not the virus, just a bad cold but she never left my side. So I’m concerned that something is wrong with my baby.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Baybee. Cats, by nature, hide signs of illness well. So any change in behavior can be significant. I think it is worth having her evaluated by a veterinarian. She may be painful somewhere or have an internal disease starting. The veterinarian will examine her and may recommend testing such as bloodwork. Based on these results, treatment can be started if necessary. I hope this information helps!
