My dog is vomiting, has diarrhea, and restless. When to call vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Italian Greyhound | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 10 lbs

Hello, my Italian greyhound has been up frequently all night to vomit and have diarrhea. He’s normally a very good sleeper and doesn’t do much moving around but tonight he just seems restless. He keeps shifting around as if he can’t get comfortable. I know dogs get upset stomachs from time to time but I’m wondering if I should be getting concerned. He just seems very off.

It could just be a tummy bug, so you could try a bland diet of cooked white rice and boiled chicken and letting Chester rest for the day. If he becomes very lethargic, can't keep anything down, or you are very concerned, I would recommend calling your vet. He should definitely go in if the vomiting and diarrhea continue tomorrow (after 24 hours). Common causes of vomiting and diarrhea in a dog include dietary intolerance or indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others.
