Why does my cat have bumps on her face she keeps scratching open?

My cat has these bumps on her face that I can't get rid of. She keeps breaking them open and scratching at them open. And they seem to bother her. Can I get help

She could have feline acne and I'm concerned the area could be infected with her continually opening them up. If she does have feline acne, she needs a medicated wash to treat it and antibiotics for any infection. She needs to see a vet for this, I'd take her into one first thing in the morning. It is possible she has a secondary skin infection that may require antibiotics to treat. I would recommend bringing her in for your vet to examine the area and prescribe medication based on their findings.

It is difficult to diagnose without seeing the bumps but she could have a bacterial skin infection, allergic dermatitis, cysts, papillomas, or other types of masses. You could bathe her with a medicated cat shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, she should be examined by a vet to determine the exact cause and best way to treat. She may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, or they may need to be removed.

My older overweight cat has been getting small bumps under her neck that are itchy. What could this be?
She could have a bacterial skin infection or an allergic dermatitis. You could bathe her with an anti-bacterial cat shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. She many need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, hypoallergenic diet, and/or other medications to treat.

It sounds m as if your cat has a skin infection, most commonly caused by an allergy or fleas. The allergy could be a due to a protein in Daisy's food or an environmental allergy like to dust, pollens, grasses, etc. The allergy causes your cat to itch and chew at the skin which breaks down the skin barrier. This then leads to infection (the bumps you are noticing). Daisy will need antibiotics to help clear up the infection and possibly an anti-itch medication like steroids or Atopica to give some relief while the infection clears up. A medicated shampoo may be beneficial as well. I would also recommend she be on a good flea control too. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco Best of luck!

What you are seeing looks to be feline chin acne. This is a common thing we see in cats. What works very well reducing the occurrence of acne, is benzoyl peroxide. I would take him in to be seen by your veterinarian so that you can get a prescription for the most appropriate topical ointment to treat this. If left untreated, the acne can get very severe and become even more difficult to treat and resolve. I hope this helps! Hey, my cat has a bump on the side of his face , what is this?
It is difficult to say for sure what this is just from the picture and without seeing it in person. This could be a mass, a scratch/scab, tooth root abscess, or even an abscess. Since it is new, I would have your vet take a look at him to see what is the cause so that he can be started on the proper treatment plan to help him feel better. I hope this helps!

My cat had a scratch on his chin that i though fully healed. But there is now a bump where the cut was, and i don't know if it a infection or something else. Is there something i can do at home to find out what it is and to treat it?
You can clean the area with hydrogen peroxide. I would then take a hot wet washcloth and massage the area. The heat and massage will improve the blood supply to the area so it will heal more quickly. If there is a pocket of puss the goal is to get the scab off so the infection can drain. If there is an open wound then I would apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on it afterwards. If she becomes lethargic and not eating then I would bring her in for an exam as she may have a fever and need antibiotics. Hello! With out at least a picture of the bumps its hard to give you an idea of what may be going on. I can tell you that the most common reason cats scratch there ears is due to a mite infection. Another common problem are polyps in her ear, which are usually in the ear canal and can cause cats to scratch their ears. The bumps around the outside of her ears could be irritation from her scratching the area. Other considerations could be a primary dermatological problem and neoplasia. While age is certainly not a disease, neoplasia is more common in older pets and therefore has to be on the list. I do not think Spicy is any immediate danger. I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian as for an examination of her ears and possibly some tests of the skin around the ears. Hopefully this helps a bit!

Hi. My Bengal female cat has recently been showing small type bumps at the front of her face. (above the eyes). There are also sores that look like spots around this area. She has not been itching and us an indoor cat.
I am not sure what this is. It could be a bacterial infection, fungal infection, mites, allergies (food or fleas or environmental), or an inflammatory condition. I would recommend that you have your vet check Trinity out. The vet will do a thorough examination of all of her skin to check for other lesions. They may take a small sample for examination under a microscope. Then they can create an appropriate treatment plan for your beautiful kitty.
