My dog threw up and has a gurgling stomach. Should I withhold food?

My dog threw up three times today. She threw up some dog food along with grass. Her stomach is making some gurgling noises. Should I withhold food?

You could try withholding food for about 6-8 hours as long as Julie is otherwise healthy and doesn't have any other symptoms. You could then try offering a a small amount of a bland diet like a mixture of 25% plain, boiled boneless chicken breast and 75% plain cooked white rice (as long as Julie doesn't have any food sensitivities). If she continues to vomit you should contact your vet.

    Bailey could have eaten something that upset her stomach, causing the gurgling and bloating. Given that she is eating, pooping, and is still energetic, I wouldn't be too concerned at this point in time. You can try withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days to see if that helps her stomach. If it does, slowly add back in her normal diet.
