My cat has ear discharge, pain, and scratching. What can I do at home?

Hi! I’m stuck in quarantine and I think my cat has an ear infection. There’s brownish, clumpy discharge in her ear, and she keeps scratching at it and shaking her head. She also usually lets me wipe her ears clean but today she hissed at me when I tried to touch her ear, which makes me think she’s in pain. was hoping to find something I can do for her at home, or a way to order any necessary prescription medication online. I don’t want her to suffer just because I can’t get her to a vet. Thanks!

Unfortunately it's illegal for us to write a prescription from this site without seeing Ginny in person, so we cannot give you a prescription. It does sound like she has an ear infection, and she needs to see a vet for this. If you cannot leave the house, see if you have a friend or family member who can take her into the vet for you now. You can leave her outside in her crate, then your friend can pick her up and take her in.
