Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 3 months old

Hi my cat accidentally spilled hot water from kettle over it there are some burns on his front arms and paw and some on his front body , the area is slightly warm and seems to be releasing a little fluid . It's 1 year old Siamese male , drinking water only since the accident yesterday , Currently I am using Bepanthen plus , softin tab 1/3rd for a day A fast response would really be appreciated in these trying times. Should I use some other meds? What should I do to help it recover?

It sounds like the area has blistered, and this is now a medical emergency. This can no longer be treated at home, Jacky has to see a vet now. He will also need pain medication, as this will be very painful to him. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. Please take him into a vet immediately.

Oh no, poor Bubbles! He could have serious burns from having hot water spilled in his face, and this will be very painful for him. The pain may be preventing him from eating. He really does need to see a vet as soon as possible. He needs his burns treated and pain medications, which the vet can do. Please do NOT give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
