My puppy doesn't look purebred. Why is she bloated and eating so much?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 4 days old | 3 lbs

I was told I was getting a pure bred English cream retriever puppy and she definitely doesn’t look like it. Also. She had fleas that we treated and also worms in her poop, but none anymore. She had distemper and dewormer on the 31st. She’s really bloated for like 2 days and eats like she’s never gonna get any again, Also do you think she is part Samoyed ? She has two hind dew claws

I agree that Lucy does not look as expected for a purebred GR. It's possible she is mixed with something (maybe nor Samoyed but another arctic type breed) or that she is just not well bred. You may look into one of the genetic tests as this is the only way to know. I recommend to stick with Wisdom Health or Embark. I also recommend to keep Lucy on a routine deworming schedule and having her regularly checked for worms. She may just be food motivated but it's important to make sure there are no parasites since these can spread to people. What ever she is, she's a cutie. Congrats on adding her to your family!
