My dog puked up string and carpet. Is a vet visit necessary?

Hi, I have an eight month old pit named lilah. About 30-40 minutes ago she puked up this huge wad of string, looks like a piece from her favorite rope toy and carpet fibers.. she didn’t show any changes in behavior prior to puking it up or after, so I’m not sure if I should take her to a vet? Obviously she will no longer be allowed to play with rope toys. I’m with her constantly and never realized she was actually eating her toy and much less my rug so I feel really embarrassed and guilty.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Keep a very close eye on Lilah. If she vomits again, has any difficulty pooping (acting constipated) is lethargic, not eating or otherwise acts sick at all, then she needs to go to the vet asap. If she is 100% normal after this, then she may have vomited all the fibers that she ate. Be sure to watch what she is chewing on, puppies get into everything. Good luck, I hope this helps.
