My dog is coughing and hacking up spit! He does have a heart murmur and recently had surgery to remove a small abscess on his chest. What do I do? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 11 lbs

My concern of a hacking cough in a dog with a heart murmur is possible heart failure. They have fluid in the lungs which creates a wet cough. I would recommend taking Brownie to an emergency vet clinic for evaluation.
