Is my 4-month-old puppy's 26 lb weight normal or underweight?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 9 days old | 26 lbs

My dog is 4-5 month old and is 12kgs. Is this appropriate for a dog to be 12kgs at this age or isn't? If he is under Weight how should we help him increase his weight?

At 12kg (26.4 pounds) Iggy sounds like a normal weight. Please don't try to overfeed him to make him bigger. That will cause growth abnormalities. He is not too thin unless you see all his ribs showing. Most dogs are too fat in general so it is best to keep him lean.
