Why is my cat drooling, eyes watering, and third eyelid showing?

My cat is drooling and his eyes are watering and his third eyelid is covering half his eye.

It sounds like Skywalker may have an eye infection causing his eye symptoms, and could be nauseous causing the drooling. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Please take him into a vet now for these problems.

Yes, it does sound like Ginger is sick based on the symptoms you described. He could be suffering from allergies or a respiratory infection. I would have him seen by a vet today or tomorrow. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and can prescribe treatment for him.

So sorry that your cat is sick. There are many possible conditions that could cause the clinical signs that your cat is experiencing including an infection, parasite, kidney disease, liver disease, hyperthyroidism, cancer, etc. He should be examined by a vet for a work-up to determine the cause. Your vet can run lab-work and take x-rays to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. Please call your vet and schedule an appointment.

My cat Osiris is 9 months and he drools when sleeping and being pet. He also sneezes and has a runny nose. He eats and drinks just fine
I would not be overly concerned about the drooling as the salivary glands can be quite active when asleep and when particularly content. However, the other symptoms wiuld make me think he has a viral infection causing a touch of cat flu. This is quite common and the viruses tend to flare up then die down. There is little that can be done to treat a virus but it would be worth having him checked as virus can make way for bacteria which does warrant treatment. When you are at the vet mention the drooling and have them check his teeth just in case.

My cat is a 3 year old male. He has been uncontrollably drooling for at least half a day. I do not know why either. He seems a little more unmotivated also.
Poor Fiefie! It sounds like something is definitely wrong. Excessive drooling can be a sign of nausea in cats, or can be caused by a problem in the mouth such as severe dental disease, a foreign body, or even an oral tumor of some kind. If he will let you, you can try gently opening his mouth to see if you can see any obvious problems inside. If not, I would recommend taking him to the vet today for an exam - he/she can sedate him if necessary to perform a more thorough oral exam, and may also recommend blood work or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Pou. Drooling is typically the result of nausea, oral pain or ingesting something with a bad taste. He will need to see his veterinarian if his symptoms persist. If he did acquire the respiratory infection from his housemate, then post-nasal drop could be making him nauseous. Last night I saw drool by my cat? Also, his eyes were pinkish/squinty, not discharge yet, but he rubbed at them. Everything else was normal - eat, drink, pee, poop, play, sleep. Today he was laying down (sleeping?), and it was wet where his head was
The drool is likely due to something hurting his mouth rather than anything to due with his food. Cats can get sore mouths from chewing on things that they shouldn't (i.e. electrical cords), dental disease, certain infections, or other oral diseases. I do not see evidence of eye problems, but if there is, then I would be more suspicious of an infection causing this. Otherwise, I would need to look in his mouth to help narrow-down the cause of this. You can try to look in his mouth and see if anything looks abnormal. If you do notice something abnormal, then it's best to have your vet see him sometime soon, so they can advise on the necessary treatment. There is definitely no need to change the food at this time and it's best to continue feeding his normal diet to prevent any gastrointestinal disturbances. Drooling can be a sign of dental disease, oral ulcers from ingesting toxins or from some medical conditions, or even nausea or pain. If you feel Leo's behavior is abnormal you should either recheck with your vet or get a second opinion elsewhere. A sedated oral exam might be helpful, or blood work might be recommended as well.

Drooling is a sign of ingestion of flea medication, and if Peanut Butter has symptoms that progress to lethargy, facial twitching, agitation, seizures, or vomiting, he will need to see a vet immediately. At the moment, I would flush his mouth out with cool water, and I wouldn't offer him any food. The watery eyes could be related to something different, such as allergies or an eye infection. He should see a vet as soon as possible. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. He could have an upper respiratory infection, dental problem, or other medical issue. It is impossible to know the cause without doing an examination. If he has an upper respiratory infection, it could be contagious to the other outside cats. Make sure you wash your hands and change clothing after handling him before touching your indoor cats. If possible, catch him and take him to a vet for an examine and treatment.
