My dog pees outside then immediately inside. Is it a medical issue?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 months and 19 days old | 50 lbs

Nina is house trained and she did great when we first brought her home but last week she started having accidents in the house and shes on a schedule and goes out at the same times always and normally when shes outside she will urinate 2 sometimes 3 times everytime. But she will urinate a couple times outside and then come right back in and urinate on the floor and I've tried cleaning with an enzymatic cleaner but it hasn't helped.

This can be a sign of a medical problem like a UTI or bladder stones. I'd have Nina seen by a vet today to have this diagnosed and treated. If she does have a UTI or bladder stones, the vet can treat her.

    Anytime an adult dog that was previously housebroken starts to have changes in their urination pattern, I would certainly want to rule out a medical issue first, before looking into behavioral problems. I think this could very likely be a urinary tract infection, or even perhaps a sign that she has urinary stones. I would get her in to see her vet, and have a urinalysis performed before starting to think about training changes.

It could be that Nala isn't being a brat, she could be suffering from a medical illness such as a UTI or bladder stones causing her to urinate in the home. I would have her seen by a vet first thing in the morning for a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis. If she does have a UTI or bladder stones, the vet can prescribe treatment for her.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Nina. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. Increases in thirst and urination can indicate an underlying disease. For example, diabetes can cause these symptoms. The veterinarian will examine her and likely collect blood and urine. Based on these results, treatment can be started if necessary. In the meantime, take her outside frequently. Do not restrict her access to water. If she has a metabolic disorder, then he body needs the extra water. I hope this information helps!

First step would be to have Louie seen by a vet. This behavior could be caused by a medical illness, such as a UTI or bladder stones. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis to diagnose if he is suffering from a medical illness causing this behavior and can treat him for it. If he's not, then the vet can discuss behavioral training options with you.

Poor Riley (and you!)! Riley could be urinating in the house because of a medical issue, such as a urinary tract infection, crystals in the urine or bladder stones. Behavioral stressors, such as a change in her normal routine, can trigger inappropriate urination in some pets. As a first step, Riley should be seen by her vet and have a urinalysis performed to check for the presence of infection and crystals. A urinary tract infection requires antibiotics and crystals may require a diet change. If medical issues are ruled out, consider using a calming pheromone diffuser or collar (Adaptil is one example).

Pepper's symptoms could be due to a urinary tract infection, crystals in the urine, stones in the urinary tract, a mass, or toxin ingestion. It is important that you have Pepper seen by a veterinarian to help determine the cause of the signs and to start treatment. If you notice her straining to urinate/unable to produce urine, this is a medical emergency and can be life threatening. She may be avoiding going outside due to pain/discomfort associated with urinating, or she may be unable to go, indicating a potential emergency situation.

Hello, it sounds like Bella could have a urinary tract infection. Alternatively, she could have bladder stones. If you have shortened her walks, then perhaps she is not being allowed sufficient time to fully urinate. If this persists, or if you note blood in the urine, frequent small urinations, or painful urinations, then she should be evaluated by her veterinarian. Hope this helps and best of luck.

My two year old dog has stopped going to toilet in garden. Even if I stand with him every hour he will stand there then come in and wee. When out on daily walk all is normal, it's just the garden that is the problem. Help!
yIts possible that he may have a urinary tract infection, bladder stones, or another health issue that has contributed to this becoming a problem.. sometimes their potty habits changing are the first (and sometimes only) sign that something is wrong in their urinary tract. If his health is cleared after a physical exam and labwork (urinalysis and possibly blood work), the we can say this a behavioral issue. If that is the case, it may take some time to re-establish good potty habits. Were there any major changes in the garden or stressors in his life at the time this behavior changed? Any new animals in the house? You might try taking him to a new area to relieve himself... take him on a short walk, etc. You also need to clean the areas where he has peed inside very thoroughly, and if they are carpeted areas they need to be steam cleaned; often the pad also needs to be pulled up and replaced. I would take Coco into the vet. There could be a medical reason behind why she is urinating in the house, such as a UTI or bladder stones. She could also be suffering from something called spay incontinence. The muscles controlling the urethral sphincters can weaken in spay dogs, leading to incontinence. The good news is that all these things can be treated, but it does require a visit to the vet. Have your father call her vet in the morning to make an appointment for her. I hope this helps.

When I first bought my dog she would let me know when she needed to go out to pee, now she has a habit of peeing in the house often. Not sure if she has a weak bladder or if it’s a sign of diabetes. Should I go get her checked for diabetes?
Anytime there is a change in bathroom habits, it is always recommended to have your vet check for any medical problems. Female dogs also have a tendency to develop urinary tract infections, so that would be a possibility in a dog that has just started urinating in the house as well. By checking a urine sample, your vet should be able to determine if there are any signs of a urinary tract infection or diabetes.
