Why is my senior dog suddenly lethargic, not eating, and sleeping?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 13 years and 5 months old | 15 lbs

Hi, my dog is called Fudge he is a Yorkshire terrier X miniature Yorkshire terrier, he is 13 years old. From Tuesday this week he seems to not be himself at all. He hasn’t been eating much and seems to lack in energy causing him to sleep a lot. This is not his usual character as he is normally running and bouncing around everywhere and can’t get to the back door quick enough when he hears to come to go outside, he’s also usually very vocal and I have never seen him so quite.

This sudden change in behavior is quite concerning that Fudge is not feeling well. I'm concerned that something serious may be going on. I would have him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible for an exam and bloodwork.
