My Yorkie is losing hair, flaky, and crusty. Is it a skin infection?

My dog is 1 yr and 8 months old he is a Yorki terrier admins today as I combed his hair I notice he is losing hair which he doesn’t really and he is also flaky and maybe a little crust in his hair I’ve search and saw it could be a skin infection which makes me scared and nervous. Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 2 years and 8 months old | 6.8 lbs

You would need to have him physically examined by your veterinarian to diagnose a skin infection. It could be dry skin or the beginning of a shedding period. Bathe him in a pet approved moisturizing shampoo. Consider adding a fish oil supplement, such as DermCaps or EicosaCaps, to his diet to promote healthy skin and coat.
