Can I give flea meds to a pregnant dog? When to X-ray for puppies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 25 lbs

Two questions. Can I give Mía her flea meds (revolution topical) if she’s pregnant? Mia and Asher tied twice, I was there both times, the first tied on March 6th and the second time was the 7th, when should I take her into the vet to get an X-ray of her belly to see if she’s pregnant? I know the X-ray is optional but for her and the puppies health, I want to know how many puppies she needs to give birth to and when to know when she is ready to give birth.

It is best to wait until about 45 days of pregnancy to get an x-ray. That is when the skeletons will be formed enough to show up on the x-rays. Yes, Revolution is safe for use in pregnant dogs. Good questions!
