My dog is vomiting yellow foam and doing downward dog. Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 2 months old | 13 lbs

A few days ago I heard some rumblings in her tummy so I felt around and didnt feel anything abnormal so I just gave her a little bit of rice. Then she started to stick her back side into the air doing a downward dog which is a bit abnormal. Today she threw up on the couch and a few smaller throw ups on the carpet all yellow and frothy. She seems to be eating ok up until today she didnt take a treat. Any idea what could be going on? Should I take her to the vet immediately?

Yes, you should take her to your vet for an exam. The downward dog position is probably from some sort of pain or discomfort in her abdomen. The vomiting and not eating also goes along with that. Please take her to a vet as soon as possible.
